Rubberising of work surfaces

Preparation of surface:

  • Areas to be treated should be free from all dirt, oil, grease and loose particles. Remove excessive grease efficiently with a degreasing agent.

  • Clean with steel brush and 40 grid sandpaper

  • If rust occurs apply B-treat until rusted area is saturated.

  • If metal is totally rusted away a membrane can be used to fill up. Load bearing qualities may be affected.

 Note:

  • B-Earth Products must be stirred well before use.

  • Products can be applied by paintbrush, paint roller or spray gun

  • Where artwork is to be painted on B-rubber, apply B-paint before B-varnish.

  • White B-rubber always to be painted with B-paint White as final coat.

  • If rubber is applied to a bakkie or truck, rubber should be applied  5-6mm thick

Application:

  • Apply one (1) coat B-bond as minimum. Allow to dry.

  • Where B-bond don’t stick to surface, scrub or sand B-bond into substrate with wire brush or 40 grid sandpaper.

  • If rust occurs apply B-treat 2 coats

  • Apply B-rubber of colour choice. Allow for four coats by brush in 90 degree angles towards each other. Final coat can be sprayed on by sandblast gun. B-varnish can be used for glossy finish.

Cleaning:

  • Products are water based

  • Clean all equipment thoroughly with water immediately after use.
