WALLS: Old, new plaster or previously painted surfaces

 

Preparation of surface:

  • External Walls: Prepare by scrubbing, sanding or high pressure water cleaning the surface.

  • Walls to be painted should be free from all dirt, oils, fat, and flaking or peeling paints.

  • Sand down all surfaces, use crack filler to level surfaces.

  • Crack filler can be mixed with B-bond to give it more elasticity.

  • Enamel to be sanded down until “sheen” is gone.

  • Plastered walls  can be painted as soon as “teardrop” is gone.

  • Where algae effloresce or lime bloom occurs sand surface until all growth is gone.

  • If walls have previously been treated with Glastone, putty-plast, Rhino-lite or any similar products, ensure pH is neutral.

  • Neutralise unbalanced pH with Bicarbonate of Soda(180grams) and water(5L) mixture. Wash off surface and let dry.

 

Note:

  • B-Earth Products must be stirred well before use.

  • Products can be applied by paintbrush, paint roller or spray gun.

  • 10 % B-paint can be mixed in to B-bond to increase coverage / hiding ability of paint.

 

Application:

  • Apply one (1) coat of B-bond. B-bond is an application detector and primer, If B-bond would not adhere to surface. Scrub or sand B-bond into surface.

  • Apply B-paint of colour choice. Allow two (2) coats.

  • Parapet walls must get two (2) layers of B-seal  to waterproof  the surface before  B-paint is applied.

  • Where two (2) different materials join, a membrane must be used.

  • Apply B-bond to surfaces one (1) coat, apply membrane and cover with two (2) coats of B-seal. Cover with B-paint 1 (one) coat.

 

Cleaning:

  • Products are water based

  • Clean all equipment thoroughly with water immediately after use.
